Rosanne Pallini-Verlezza
THE AUTHOR
About:
Rosanne Pallini-Verlezza was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She holds a B.A. in psychology and elementary education from Iona College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Her M.S. in curriculum and instruction was from Pace University. With her nursery through grade six certification, she taught pre-school (in White Plains and Elmsford, New York), and worked with multi-age students (in Bedford Hills and Yorktown Heights, New York). She went on to receive tenure as a fifth grade teacher.
After getting married , Rosanne lived in Westchester and Putnam, New York. When her husband's job required lots of travel, she decided to stop teaching and join him. During this time, she explored the arts. She started a craft business selling her photos and woodcut prints. This led to learning how to frame her own pieces and work as a custom framer.
Rosanne and her husband settled in New England. Country living inspired her to further pursue her love of teaching, art and writing. She now tries to find ways to combine them all while spreading her love of the Catholic faith.
Charities:
Rosanne volunteered at 'H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut Inc.,' one of her favorite charities. It's a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and neglected horses.
When the community need arose, she supported the creation of 'Martha's Voice, Inc.' (a local alliance committed to the welfare of animals, especially those provided care by Animal Control Officers).
Rosanne was a member of the 'Little Audrey Santo Foundation,' advancing the cause for Audrey Santo's Beatification and Canonization in the Catholic Church. They bring people to Christ through 'Little Audrey'.
Since 2007, Rosanne has been a member of the 'Monsignor Collins #5066 Columbiettes' (a woman's Catholic charity group). She served them as Secretary and Vice President. The group supports the efforts of the 'Knights of Columbus', and raises money for a 'Campership Fund' that sends developmentally challenged children to camp. The Columbiettes hosted a senior luncheon for the homebound and put together blessing bags for the homeless. They visit local retirement homes to spread joy and prayer. The list goes on... Yearly, the Columbiettes have received the 'Margaret Mary J. Mangan Achievement Award' in recognition of all the good works they perform in unity.
